What Allegedly Unfolded That Tragic Night at Hilton's Home
Per the outlet, reports came in at 6:51 p.m. of a "possible suicide" at the home of Perez Hilton. A little over an hour later, "...[D]ispatch audio described a police response to a 'streamer known as Perez Hilton.'" Afterward that same night at 10:41 p.m., police allegedly asked for help from fire services. It was by then described as an "active police scene." By 11:30 p.m., Perez Hilton was reportedly being taken to the hospital.
The Miami-Dade Country Sheriff's Office Issued a Statement
The statement given to the outlet addressed the way that law enforcement might typically deal with a person experiencing a mental health issue. Per People, it said in part, "In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication." Also, the use of "crisis intervention techniques" can limit the likelihood of someone hurting themselves, emergency responders, or anyone else in the vicinity.
Police followed up with more information, per the outlet. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue had brought the person in question, believed to be Hilton, to a local hospital. Furthermore, the individual's family was being assisted by mental health professionals as well as the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Crisis Response Unit.
Hilton's Reps Also Released a Statement at the Time
Rebekah Kochan and Dante Rusciolelli are the CEOs of Golden Artists Entertainment. They released a statement of their own the day after the incident involving their client, Perez Hilton. It indicates their concern for him.
