Earlier last month, it was revealed that the hit All-American Rejects song "Dirty Little Secret" was initially pitched as a country song. Well, we finally have a country cover courtesy of MackMartin.

The All-American Rejects sat down at the Zach Sang Show, where they discussed the origins of "Dirty Little Secret." Tyson Ritter, the singer, said that the song was at first "written as like this weird a-- kind of country, acoustic song. Like it used to swing."
The interview clip that was shared to TikTok made the rounds, and an up-and-coming duo, MackMartin, thought to try their hand at making the lost country song a reality.
They posted to TikTok their attempt at translating the punk rock song in line with how Ritter described the intro used to sound. The cover tease blew up on TikTok, and the couple new exactly what they had to do next. Make it a proper cover.
Their short cover did get noticed by the band, as they commented, "Who are these divas? ??."
The comments flooded with people asking for a full cover and for it to be posted to Spotify. With such demand, MackMartin couldn't not supply.
At long last, MackMartin have recorded a full Dirty Little Secret cover and published it to Spotify. The time is nigh, everyone.
MackMartin Release The Country Version Of 'Dirty Little Secret' Everyone Has Been Asking For
On December 27 (my birthday, by the way), MackMartin published their "Dirty Little Secret" cover to Spotify. It has already racked up over 9,000 views, making it the second-most song of theirs listened to already. I'm sure it'll take the top spot in no time.
On their announcement to TikTok that the song was live, compliments flooded in.
"Ooooh this is triggering the internal brain scratches that makes my brain happy ?," writes a fan.
"God your voice is incredible," comments another.
"Right, this is the best!" exclaims a happy customer.
"YES I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH, IT SOUNDS SO GOOD ??????" gushes one more.
The verdict is in, the song is brilliant. Another y'allternative notch under MackMartin's belt. This cover may be the start of something big for the band.
