Everyone has at least one crazy incident in their lives that makes for a great party story.
And for Luke Combs, it comes from the days of high school football. Per Whiskey Riff, the crazy story originated from a time he faced a future NFL player in a game. And it's just been confirmed by the ex-NFL star himself.
Combs recalled his team getting badly beat by Brandon Spikes pretty darn well. "We had a really good running back that year, I think he was going to Western Carolina?"
And, well, at the time, his coach was pretty confident. "Our coach is like, 'We're running straight at this dude'. It set the tone for the game, but not in the way we had hoped."
It went as well as you'd expect. "He [Brandon Spikes] absolutely annihilated our running back. Fullback folded like a piece of paper, gone, running back, folded."
But that's not all...

Luke Combs Witnessed Something Crazy
And then, the crazy part of the story. "Spikes gets over top of him, grabs a deadlock and rips it out of his head, from his helmet, and wraps it around his wrist like a bracelet and wears it the rest of the game."
Pretty crazy stuff, right? A lot of people's sole football experience comes from NFL games, and while some pretty crazy stuff tends to happen there, I haven't heard about a dreadlock bracelet...
And that's the exact thought process some people took to what happened. Of course, given how crazy the whole thing sounds, that makes sense - and I don't blame them one bit!
But, funnily enough, the whole thing's been independently
