Country Icon Reveals Why He Won't Appear on Taylor Sheridan Shows Anytime Soon

It's a short hop from singing to acting. Both fields involve storytelling. So no wonder that so many famed singers have crossed over to acting, and done it very successfully. Think of Whitney Houston, Lady Gaga, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, John Denver, Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, and many others. In the country music genre, two new arrivals in the acting world are Lainey Wilson and Riley Green. Wilson was in Yellowstone and recently made her feature film debut in Reminders of Him. Green guest-starred on the Yellowstone spinoff Marshals. However, another country singing sensation, Luke Combs, says that he is not planning to be on any Taylor Sheridan shows. What's his reason for not wanting to be part of the Yellowstone creator's TV galaxy?

Combs Might Consider It on One Condition

The "Ain't No Love in Oklahoma" singer told Us Weekly almost shyly that he could possibly envision be on a Taylor Sheridan show if he could portray himself. (Combs made the comments at the Time 100 bash on April 23, 2026.)

The fan-fave country artist modestly explained, "If they just want me to play me, then great. I'm in." But a scripted part? Not so fast, folks. Luke Combs said to the outlet, "I don't know if I'm a TV guy. I've got a face for radio. I've been lucky for that. But I don't know. I just try to have time for my wife and my kids and not over commit myself to things that maybe I don't feel like I'm great at. Or maybe I would be good at it.

It sounds like Luke Combs doesn't like to do anything halfway. He's either all in or out. Combs clarified that by saying, "I just got so much going on with the music stuff. I want to give everything I have to that because I have such a big team and so many people that depend on me to make music and play shows and go out and do things for people. From employees to fans, I want to give everything I can to that."
