Luke Combs Announces Release Date For Sophomore Album

Add Luke Combs' unnamed sophomore album to the stacked slate of summer and fall releases. Combs announced its Nov. 8 arrival today (Aug. 8) via Twitter.

The album follows 2017 debut This One's for You. Its predecessor's monster success includes five consecutive number one singles: "Hurricane," "When It Rains It Pours," "One Number Away," "She's Got the Best of Me" and "Beautiful Crazy." This streak of number ones continued with "Beer Never Broke My Heart" from his The Prequel EP.

Furthermore, This One's for You set the bar high for Combs by spending 44 weeks atop the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, a stat only topped by Shania Twain's Come on Over's 50-week reign.

When This One's for You arrived, Combs was a hungry young performer on many "artists to watch" lists. This time around, he's a superstar and the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry cast, so it'll be interesting to see how he and his team build off recent success.

No details yet on the album's title or track list. Combs has revealed live takes of several new songs this summer, such as "1, 2 Many," "Better Together" and "Reasons." Time will tell if those reveals tested the waters for future album tracks or if we'll get a completely new batch of songs.

Combs' news adds to an already stacked release list featuring Tanya Tucker's While I'm Livin' (out Aug. 23), Trisha Yearwood's Every Girl (Aug. 30), The Highwomen's self-titled debut (Sept. 6) and Jon Pardi's Heartache Medication (Sept. 27).
