Luke Combs is one of the most likable guys in country music. He's been topping the Billboard country charts since his debut single "Hurricane" was released in 2016. So far, he's released two number one studio albums -- This One's for You and What You See Is What You Get.
Luke Albert Combs was born in Charlotte in 1990, but grew up in Asheville, North Carolina. He played football at A.C. Reynolds High School, but was always a skilled vocalist and performed since he was a young child. He even had his own solo at Carnegie Hall in New York City. When he was attending Appalachian State University he started getting some stage time at a bar where he was working as a bouncer and decided music was his path. With less than a month until graduation, Combs packed his bags and moved to Nashville to pursue his dreams.
Combs started developing a small fan base by touring college towns and releasing his first EP online. He wasted no time and ended up releasing three EPs before getting the attention from record labels -- The Way She Rides, Can I Get an Outlaw and This One's for You. In 2016, he landed a record deal with Sony Music's Columbia Nashville and his debut album became the top country album of 2018. He's been all over country radio since the first week his debut single was released.
Songwriter Jonathan Singleton told the Washington Post that he was blown away the first time he saw Combs perform in Nashville. He explained that Combs understood what his fans wanted to hear, which helped him skyrocket to the top.
"It's really the fastest thing I've ever seen in this town. He really hit the nail on the head of what they were looking for."
With all that success in such a short period of time, what is the country star's estimated net worth?
Luke Combs' Net Worth
In just four years, Combs has earned an estimated net worth of $5 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. So far, nine of his singles have reached number one on the Country Airplay charts -- "Hurricane," "When It Rains It Pours," "One Number Away," "She Got the Best of Me," "Beautiful Crazy," "Beer Never Broke My Heart," "Even Though I'm Leaving," "Does to Me" and "Lovin' on You." He won New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards in 2018 and Male Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year in 2019. After an incredibly impressive debut in the world of country music, Luke Combs has proved he's not going anywhere anytime soon. He was even inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2019.
Outside of his music career, Combs recently married his longtime girlfriend, Nicole Hocking. When they first met, Combs was a struggling musician who had recently relocated to Tennessee. Hocking worked for BMI Nashville at the time and helped get him some valuable connections in the music business. She's been there every step of the way -- for Combs debut album, his three Billboard Music Awards, CMT Music Awards Performance of the Year with Leon Bridges and his most recent Country Music Association Award for "Beautiful Crazy," which was written for her. Cheers to the happy couple and to many more years of country hits from Luke Combs!
