Luke Combs' summer of song reveals continued today (Aug. 2) with "Let's Just Be Friends," a soundtrack cut for upcoming animated film The Angry Birds Movie 2.
The upbeat, clap-along tune written by Combs, Jonathan Singleton and Jessi Alexander serves two desired purposes: It's another rocking country crowd-pleaser for grown-ups wanting to hoist their red Solo cups during Combs' set, and its lyrics tell a kid-friendly message of acceptance. Once the film arrives on DVD and blu-ray, those two qualities will cause children to dance and air guitar around the living room while they're learning why they should overlook perceived differences.

The Angry Birds Movie 2 hits theaters on Aug. 16. Voice actors with ties to the music world include Awkwafina and Nicki Minaj.
For Combs, the soundtrack cut continues a blockbuster summer, defined so far by his July 16 induction as the Grand Ole Opry's newest member.
