Luke Bryan Jokes on 'The Tonight Show' About Being Mistaken For Blake Shelton

It's always a hoot when Luke Bryan appears on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, whether the guest-and-host combo's playing the whisper challenge, singing "I Don't Know How to Pronounce Gyro" or discussing the time Bryan got misidentified as fellow competition show judge Blake Shelton.

?Back in April 2020, a local news broadcast identified Bryan as Shelton during its coverage of ACM Presents: Our Country.

The press has also called the "One Margarita" singer "Luke Bryant" and, more recently, Maren Morris' husband.

While chatting with Fallon, Bryan joked about the downside of being confused with People's former Sexiest Man Alive.

"You know, Blake just chooses to go gray," Bryan joked. "He just chooses to look like a silver fox. You know what I mean? I have a lot of Just for Men and hair products and I work hard on this. I still can't separate from Blake, it's just a shame."

Bryan's the reigning ACM (Academy of Country Music) Entertainer of the Year, and his Proud to Be Right Here tour should be a hot ticket this summer (if he remembers the lyrics to "Build Me a Daddy" and other recent fan favorites).

"I've done a couple of Zoom concerts and I mean, I'm like forgetting the words to my songs quite a bit," Bryan told Fallon. "I'm gonna have to do a little extra prep because I'm a little out of practice on a lot of this stuff."

Bryan's also been busy with a season of American Idol that's introduced country fans to Alex Miller, EmiSunshine and other promising, young talents.

Shelton's been on a similar journey lately, juggling his The Voice duties with promotion for upcoming album Body Language (out May 21).
