Luke Bryan gave fans a special pre-New Year's surprise during his performance in Las Vegas.
While performing at the MGM Grand on Dec. 30, Luke Bryan had pop legend Lionel Richie join him onstage for a special duet. Bryan is a massive fan of Richie's group The Commodores, and usually includes one of their songs in his sets. So, with Richie also performing in residence just down the road in Vegas, the collaboration was a no-brainer. Bryan said that Richie was in the "top two of his heroes" before they performed The Commodores' 1981 hit, "Oh No."
Richie took the first verse of the beautiful ballad while Bryan gleefully played the role of back-up singer. Bryan ran through the second verse before posing a quick question to Richie. "We're gonna make some babies tonight," he said with a smile. "Ain't that right?" Needless to say, Richie and the audience alike erupted with glee.
This wasn't the first time Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie teamed up for a performance. Back in 2013, the cool crooners performed at the CMT Artist of the Year event. Bryan also took part in the MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Richie in early 2016 alongside Chris Stapleton.
