Lucas Hoge Pays Tribute to Garth Brooks in New Video for 'Power Of Garth'

"'Power of Garth' is one of my favorite songs off the new album," Lucas Hoge posted on his Facebook page nine months ago. He explained that "each of his songs instantly brings me back to a memory and that is what #PowerOfGarth is all about," and he asked fans how Garth Brooks impacted their lives. Readers responded with a resounding sense of devotion to Brooks, leading to an automatic connection to Hoge's new song.

Hoge now has a video to match the favored track, written by Matt Rogers and Terry McBride, from his 2017 record Dirty South. The clip shows a representation of Hoge as a kid, sitting on his bed, playing guitar and wearing a white cowboy hat and handsfree microphone just like his idol. The little boy transforms into Hoge, who is still committed to the music that created a soundtrack to his life.

There's no news as to whether or not Brooks has heard the song yet, but with the positive way Hoge's career is going right now, it wouldn't be too surprising if the man himself complimented his famous number one fan on the track. Hoge starts off on tour on July 3 in West Virginia and continues through November 10 with three dates in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Hoge also has two major brand ambassador slots: one with Cabela's with Luke Bryan and Justin Moore, and another with Southwest Airlines.

'Power of Garth' Lyrics:

My old man worked his fingers to the bone
But always made time for us when he got home
He'd grab mom and me a glass of tea and those old cassettes
That memory still as sweet as it was back then

Every time I hear "The Thunder Rolls"
I'm right back to ten years old
Those songs are like a soundtrack to my life
I was too young to understand
Why mama cried when she heard "The Dance"
Those melodies will forever be wrapped around my heart
And that's the power of Garth

I was stuck in my truck, all backed up on the interstate
And "Much Too Young" took me back to yesterday
So I cranked it up, I sang along
I closed my eyes and it took me home

Every time I hear "The Thunder Rolls"
I'm right back to ten years old
Those songs are like a soundtrack to my life
I was too young to understand
Why mama cried when she heard "The Dance"
Those melodies will forever be wrapped around my heart
And that's the power of Garth

A lot of songs have come and gone
And faded in the dust
But no one's ever come along
And hit me like he does

Every time I hear "The Thunder Rolls"
I'm right back to ten years old
Those songs are like a soundtrack to my life
I was too young to understand
Why mama cried when she heard "The Dance"
Those melodies will forever be wrapped around my heart
And that's the power of Garth
Yeah, that's the power of Garth
