Louisiana High School Teacher Framed By Students For Sending Inappropriate Texts

In December 2024, it was alleged that a high school teacher in Louisiana had inappropriately messaged two minors. Two female students, ages 15 and 16, allegedly had inappropriate conversations through an "instant messaging platform" with the teacher. However, investigations concluded that the teenagers had fabricated the inappropriate conversations.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office issued a

statement where they announced the results of their investigation. Police confirmed that the teenagers were charged with attempting to frame the unidentified Central Lafourche High School teacher. According to the statement, a concerned party alerted juvenile detectives back on December 18, 2024.

What followed was weeks of thorough investigation. Detectives interviewed all parties and reviewed the phones and social media accounts where the conversations had taken place. The investigation found that the two teenage female students fabricated the conversations and created fake social media accounts. Moreover, it also found that the teacher had no involvement whatsoever.

Reportedly, the teenage students shared these fabricated conversations with their friends in an attempt to frame the teacher. The teacher has since been cleared of all allegations. Furthermore, according to the sheriff's office, one of the students has confirmed her involvement in the crime.

Both teenage female high school students were charged on Monday, January 6, 2025. Police charged each with one count of false swearing for the purpose of violating public health or safety, cyberstalking, and online impersonation. Police placed them on electronic monitoring.

Shocked And Appalled

Authorities have warned against others attempting to do the same and applauded the investigator's efforts. "Our juvenile detectives are diligent and take claims of inappropriate behavior very seriously," Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre said in the sheriff's office statement.

"They are, however, equally serious about false claims. Someone's life can be instantly ruined by a false allegation, and I am proud that our investigators were able to get to the bottom of this," Webre continued. "Technology has made it very easy for people to try to manipulate the truth, but technology also makes it easy for investigators to ultimately find the truth."

At the same time, in the same statement, Lafourche Parish Schools Superintendent Jarod Martin stated that he was "shocked and appalled" after finding out about the teenage student's actions.

"The allegations against one of our teachers were false and malicious, and we appreciate the efficiency of investigators in uncovering the source of these messages," Martin said. "Such attacks on a teacher's credibility and reputation are concerning and can inhibit their ability to effectively educate our children."
