Loretta Lynn's Brother, Donald Ray Webb, Passes Away

Loretta Lynn's brother, Donald Ray Webb, has died. The 76-year-old Kentucky native passed away at his home in Wabash, Ind. on Friday, Oct. 13, while surrounded by family.

Webb shared the musical gene with his sisters Loretta and Crystal Gayle. One of their four brothers, Webb contributed to Gayle's 1978 song "Clock On The Wall."

According to his obituary, Webb loved fishing, playing and singing music and mushroom hunting. He was also proud of his songwriting credit and musical family. In addition to Loretta and Crystal, other musical members of the family include Peggy Sue Wright and Jay Lee Webb.

Donald Ray Webb is immediately survived by his wife, two daughters, son and step-daughter. And of course, his four sisters, an older brother and multiple grandchildren.

Funeral services for Loretta Lynn's brother take place on Oct. 18. He is the third of the Webb children to pass away, after Melvin (1993) and Jay Lee (1996).

Loretta Lynn survived several recent health scares herself. She canceled multiple shows after being injured in a fall, and later suffering a stroke. She's currently resting at home and is said to be recovering well.

Although health issues has slowed Lynn down temporarily, she hopes to return to the road next year. She's also set to release a new album, Wouldn't It Be Great, sometime next year. Lynn turned 85 years old this past April.
