Loretta Lynn to Tabloids: 'I Ain't Dead and Neither is Willie'

Negative reports about Loretta Lynn's health clearly miss the mark, as the queen of country music feels well enough to put the tabloids in their place.

"This says I'm in a nursing home and on my death bed. You're kidding me!," she says in a Facebook video. "I'm not dead and neither is Willie. Both of us are going to come back to life and we're going to raise hell."

Although the video has a jovial tone, Lynn and many of her peers have ample reason to be fed up with tabloid gossip. For decades, fans and loved ones of Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and others have read false and often mean-spirited headlines while waiting in line at the supermarket.

Lynn's video description addresses years of rumors with a heaping helping of Southern-fried snark: "Well, through the years they've said I'm broke, homeless, cheating, drinking, gone crazy, terminally ill, and even dead! Poor things can't ever get it right. I guess if those old pesky tabloids are harassing me then they're giving someone else a break... but I'm about an inch from taking them to Fist City!"

She caps off her rant about spreaders of falsehoods with perhaps the greatest hashtag of 2019: #yourmommashouldataughtyoubetter.
