Premiere: Logan Brill Channels Vintage Classics with 'Doesn't Feel Like Christmas Without You'

On "Doesn't Feel Like Christmas Without You," rising artist Logan Brill expertly blends classic vocal jazz stylings with a tinge of country.

In the melancholy ballad, she laments a lover leaving a bit too early in the holiday season. "Tell me why did you leave on Christmas Eve?" she sings. "Could you not stay for one day longer?" Despite the time of the year reserved for cheer, choirs and church bells won't move her out of her heartbreak.

It may not be the happiest tune for the holidays, but Brill's gorgeous voice immediately sucks you in. Even the best Christmas playlists need some sadder songs on there. Check out the premiere of "Doesn't Feel Like Christmas Without You" below.

Brill says she wanted to capture a bit of the more classic take on Christmas tunes for the track. "I've always loved the old-school Christmas albums like Nat King Cole and Christmas with the Rat Pack," Brill tells Wide Open Country. "So I wanted to record something that felt timeless. I hope when people hear this song they hear it as a fresh spin on something familiar and classic."

Logan Brill appears alongside an eclectic group of other artists for the new Amazon Original Playlist dubbed "Acoustic Christmas." The playlist features 21 new songs recorded specifically for the list. Those include originals from artists like Jim Lauderdale and Nicki Bluhm.

Joy Williams also joins Birdtalker for a track on the list. Lori McKenna sings "Mama's Cooking," while Waterloo Revival sing the spiritual counterpart to Brill's tune, "All I Want For Christmas Is You." Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter Noah Cyrus also has a new composition on the list.

Amazon Music subscribers can get ahold of the new tunes beginning Dec. 1.
