Song Premiere: Lizanne Knott Lets Go on 'Walk Away'

Pennsylvania-born singer-songwriter Lizanne Knott is done waiting on "Walk Away," the debut single from Knott's Bones & Gravity (out on October 4).

"Walk Away" captures the feeling of hope that comes from letting go of a doomed relationship.

Knott says the song was written directly after a breakup.

"This song is about a broken relationship, I wrote it while I was driving away, feeling good about a decision I had made and later figured it out on my guitar," Knott tells Wide Open Country. "It's the point in time when you know, you can't keep waiting on something that's not going to come to be, no matter how much you wanted it to."

Bones & Gravity is the follow-up to Knott's 2018 compilations Anthology and Sunset Avenue Sessions.

"I decided I wanted to create something personal and cohesive in nature," Knott says in a press release. "I wanted these songs to tell a story about the circumstances we all can find ourselves in, without placing blame on someone or something else."

Knott has shared the stage with Shawn Colvin, Joan Osborne, Josh Ritter, Suzanne Vega and more.
