Most of us imagine the country music singers we love having ironclad poise and composure. Nothing makes them flustered or fazed - on-stage wardrobe malfunctions, hitting a sour note while singing, or performing while sick. They just carry on with impeccable professional aplomb. But one country music superstar has acknowledged that he was really nervous before acting with a famous comedian. Blake Shelton comes clean about what he went through before going on set to make a film with Adam Sandler.

Adam Sandler Helped Calm Blake Shelton's Acting Anxiety
Blake Shelton said per People that when he worked alongside Adam Sandler eleven years ago on a film called The Ridiculous 6, "It was just so much fun, but leading up to that, I was a nervous wreck because I had to act, and I never really acted before."
Sandler, however, saved the day for Shelton. The "Sangria" singer said, "Everything about it was just like a fish out of water for me, but Adam instantly made me feel comfortable." He added, "You can't help [but] smile when you're around that guy."
Shelton Also Had Success Doing a Collab With This Country Star
There is another star that Shelton worked alongside who he also praised for putting him at ease. That was Post Malone. They did a duet on "Pour Me Drink." It was so successful that it landed them a Musical Event of the Year nod from the CMA. Shelton remarked favorably on Malone's buoyant personality and irrepressible vibrance.
Shelton said per the outlet, "There's no reason to be nervous around him. If you're going to be around Post, it's just going to be a party. There's nothing about him that would make you want to do anything other than just high-five everybody and drink a beer and smoke a cigarette...So I was not nervous about working with him. I was excited about the opportunity just to spend time with him."
He's a Busy Guy Right Now
Shelton is presently doing a residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas that runs through the end of January. In addition, he is writing music. The acclaimed country singer says he is not chasing after a monster hit, however. "...I'm having more fun just writing with people that are bucket list people or someone that I just love. To have to share music with someone special to me for one reason or another is what I get more excited about."
