Lightning Strikes House In Wild Video

A neighbor's doorbell camera caught the insane moment that lightning struck a Texas home. While the neighbor said that she initially thought a bomb had gone off, she quickly learned that it was lightning that had struck the home.

Luckily, the homeowners were able to evacuate the home safely. The Daily Mail shares that they fled "after hearing a possible Lightning Strike hit the roof of the home and then saw flames in the attic space." Furthermore, the

Bell County Fire Marshall's Office shared details on the damages to the home. In a Facebook post they shared, "This fire was brought under control within 30 minutes and no other structures were damaged. The home was saved but did have fire and water damage. The home will be able to be repaired."

While this video is absolutely insane, it is not the first time that this home has been struck by lightning. In fact, KXXV shares that this home has been struck by lightning 6 times. Talk about defying the odds.

Freak Lightning Accidents

This family wasn't the only one to have unfortunate luck with lightning. However, their story is happier than most. At least they all survived. Last month four soccer players were struck and killed by lightning while playing on the field.

Considering that the CDC shares that "The odds of being struck by lightning in a given year are less than one in a million," these women really had the worst luck. Even more so when you consider the fact that majority of those struck by lightning survive. That's right, the CDC also shares that "almost 90% of all lightning strike victims survive."

Unfortunately for these women, the odds were not in their favor that day. The more stories like this I hear about, the more I want to hide under my bed during the next thunderstorm.
