Jock Blaney has sadly passed away at the age of 76. The legendary voice actor is best known for his roles as Bill Grey and Wolf O'Donnell in Star Fox 64, one of the most celebrated titles in the Nintendo 64 library.

A touching tribute to his life has been posted for his obituary.
"Jock had an amazing life. He was well respected in the radio and voice acting community. Jock wrote, produced, and performed." The tribute reads. "His work earned him several awards and was recognized nationally and internationally. Jock loved golf, his daughter, Brandi, and three grandsons Elijah, Sam, Zac, and his friends, too many to count. He was one of a kind, his laughter and friendship will be missed by many."
Indeed, Blaney's role within the game has led to multiple long-standing quotables and countless memes. Overall, he had a sizeable impact on gaming pop culture, especially among millennials and the modern-day retro gaming community.
Well-wishes have also begun to pour in from the gaming community, especially subreddits dedicated to games such as Star Fox 64.
"It's really sad to learn about Jock Blaney's passing," one user wrote upon learning of Blaney's death. "He was a legendary voice actor, and also an all-around great guy from what I understand. The whole Star Fox fandom is really going to miss him."
Jock Laney Had 15 Voice Acting Credits to His Name
While Laney's work on Star Fox 64 is his most celebrated, he has also had roles on multiple other games over the years. Notably, according to IMDB, he voiced the character of Dmitrij Volkov on The Operative: No One Lives Forever, and additionally on the sequel No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way.
Laney also worked on the hit game Aliens vs. Predator 2, where he voiced Major McCain in 2001. As a result, he held consistent roles within the video game community all the way through the early 2000s. Furthermore, Laney even worked on the acclaimed F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin in 2009.
