"As many of you who follow him know, he produced great music, and lived a colorful life," the statement read. "We know that he touched many of your lives; we would love to hear more about that in the comments. He will be missed."

Throughout his career, Douglas produced multiple huge hits. He is seen as an instrumental figure in Aerosmith's success, having produced tracks such as "Draw The Line and "Get Your Wings." Of course, he was also a key figure for other major artists throughout his career, too.

In 2023, Douglas appeared on the "Takin' A Walk" podcast, where he detailed his loved for music prodcution.

"I wanted to be a producer and a composer, and the funny thing was, while I was the janitor at night, I was also a client, because I was scoring the original ABC after-school specials for the producer Danny Wilson," Douglas said. "So at night I would be a client and in the daytime I was the janitor, but you know, I would beg other engineers if I could just sit in on their sessions so I could learn, and I worked my way up."

Jack Douglas Was a Huge Fan of the Beatles

Douglas was a huge fan of The Beatles, which ultimately led him to work with John Lennon. He detailed his first time meeting Lennon during his time on the "Takin' A Walk" podcast.

"The door opens and John comes into the room and I nearly peed myself, because I didn't think I would be having contact with him... And he sits down, he says, 'Okay if I hang out in here? I'm just looking for a place that's not so noisy,'" Douglas explained.

Douglas eventually worked with Lennon, producing his incredible "Imagine" album.

His loss is another blow to the music industry. Currently, there's no information regarding his cause of death or when his upcoming funeral is scheduled. Those details will likely remain private.
