As the band was traveling to the popular rock festival held in France, their bus was involved in what could have been a fatal crash. The group made the announcement via a statement on their Instagram account.

"Cavalera regretfully are unable to perform today at Hellfest due to an unforeseen accident yesterday," the post read. "We are very grateful for the driver's skills at preventing what could have been a deadly bus crash. The band is devastated to not be able to bring Chaos AD to this great festival and to the French fans. We hope to be able to return with our Chaos in the future. X Max & Iggor"

Cavalera Conspiracy held a Mainstage 2 slot as one of the night's bigger acts, with only Megadeth, Behemoth, and Anthrax following the legendary rock group afterward.

Nevertheless, attending fans will undoubtedly understand the band's decision to cancel their appearance. While the severity of the accident hasn't been revealed, it's likely all involved will need to be medically cleared.

Multiple Rock Artists Commented on the Post From Cavalera Conspiracy

"Glad you guys are ok! I was looking forward to seeing you guys," Limp Bizkit's DJ Lethal wrote. "But thank the lord there will be a next time. Peace, love and health!"

"Hope you are all safe and healthy," Ra Diaz, the bassist for Korn, wrote. "Much love always."

Cavalera Conspiracy also received well wishes from band members of groups already set to perform at Hellfest.

"Good to hear you're all OK," Scott Ian of Anthrax wrote in the comments section.

Fortunately, Cavalera Conspiracy were able to avoid disaster. However, it may be a short while before we see them performing live on stage again.
