"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Locorriere, who, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on May 16, 2026," a statement from his management read. "Dennis faced his illness with remarkable strength, dignity, and resilience throughout, and remained deeply cherished by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his warmth, love, and the lasting impact he had on those around him."

Dr. Hook enjoyed significant success during their heyday. Some of their hits included "Cover Of The Rolling Stone" and "When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman."

"In 2014, the band reached number 11 on the top 40 chart with Timeless, a 40-track collection of chart hits, love songs, and lesser-known gems from their extensive repertoire, more than 40 years on from their debut and seven years since their last top 20 album," The Independent reports.

Locorriere's career spanned almost 60 years. During that time, he recorded more than 18 studio albums.

Dr. Hook Still Draws Millions of Listeners

According to Spotify, Dr. Hook is still drawing 2.6 million monthly listeners. "Sharing The Night Together" is the most popular track on the platform, boasting 147.2 million streams. "When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman" sits second on the group's most-played list, with 140.7 million hits.

While those two songs are the most popular, by far, multiple other tracks have been highly successful on the streaming giant. "Sylvia's Mother" has 75.1 million streams. "Sexy Eyes" boasts 25.4 million listens. Of course, "The Cover Of Rolling Stone" rounds out the top five with 64.8 million plays.

When you factor in Apple Music and the other streaming platforms, Dr. Hook is likely still being played tens of millions of times per month. That's a testament to their musical ability and Locorriere's skill and charisma as a frontman.

Currently, no information regarding Locorriere's funeral has been made public. Those details will likely remain private for family and close friends.
