Once again, The Voice contestant Lauren Duski blew away the judges with her take on a hit country tune. This time, she took on Don Williams' No. 1 hit, "Lord, I Hope This Day is Good." And just like her previous covers, Duski let her vocal talents take the spotlight.
On a show where over-singing has become a trademark, Lauren stands out for her restraint. By staying true to the song's melody, she shows off her power and styling without the distraction of too many runs. Although simple and true to the original, Duski's rendition is strong, soulful and impressive.
Duski is among the strongest competitors this season. Many predict that Team Blake once again will prevail with a breakthrough country star taking the crown. Lauren has proved her talents with impressive and soulful country covers. In recent weeks, she's taken on hits from Little Big Town, Jewel and Keith Whitley.
So was the performance strong enough to get Lauren through to the next round? We'll all find out together during the live results show at 7/8 p.m. CT tonight on NBC.
