Lauren Alaina shared an emotional video with her fans on Thursday morning (Feb. 16) after learning of her first-ever ACM Awards nomination.
The "Road Less Traveled" singer is up for New Female Vocalist of the Year, one of the most coveted categories of the awards. Upon hearing the news, she took a selfie video in the airport while wiping away tears. In it, she thanks her for staying by her side through it all. The tearful video shows just how much the nomination means to the singer, even if she thinks she looks like a "hot mess."
Alaina released her sophomore album this January, and it's an honest take on her life and struggles, including her struggle with eating disorders. Road Less Traveled resonated with fans both new and old. The album's self-titled single landed her on the country charts, just outside the Top 10.
The Georgia native is nominated for New Female Vocalist of the Year alongside Maren Morris, Cam and Brandy Clark. You can see the full list of 2017 ACM Awards nominees here.
The 2017 ACM Awards, co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley, will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. on April 2. Fans can watch the live broadcast on CBS beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
