Fort Bend County Sheriff's deputies were called to a domestic dispute in Houston, Texas, back in August, per Houston outlet Fox 26. The homeowner, Huy Nguyen, told a responding deputy that he called authorities after an intense argument with his wife, according to court documents obtained by Fox 26. He reportedly explained that his father-in-law then confronted him over the argument.
However, Nguyen's wife soon allegedly revealed things got a bit more intense than her husband implied.
She allegedly stepped outside to inform the officers that her husband bit off the tip of her father's middle finger on his left hand. She reportedly told the deputies that her diet-conscious husband flew into a rage after she fed their child chicken after 10 pm. The father-in-law, not sweating a snack near bedtime, allegedly told his upset son-in-law to "shut up" and stop screaming about it.
An Alleged Argument Over a Child Eating Chicken Before Bed Led to a $150,000 Bond...
However, Nguyen was allegedly quite passionate about his child's eating habits.
Reportedly, Nyguyen (per a translation via his nephew) told officers he snatched up his father-in-law's arm. He then took a bite out of his finger. However, being passionate about not eating late, he presumably spit the fingertip out.
Upon entering the home, deputies found the elderly father-in-law indeed missing the tip of a finger. Reportedly, he had a makeshift tourniquet in the form of a plastic zip tie on the bloody stump. After a brief search, the fingertip was found. The family was told to keep it handy so doctors could attempt to reattach it.
Eventually, EMS arrived and took the father-in-law to the hospital. It's unknown if the man was able to get his fingertip reattached. If he needed a pick-me-up, hopefully there were some chicken leftovers for when he got back home.
Meanwhile, Fox 26 reports that Huy Nguyen was charged with injury to an elderly person with serious bodily injury. His bond was reportedly set at $150,000.
