Late NASCAR Icon's Brother Breaks Silence on His Tragic Death

NASCAR champ Kyle Busch's death on Thursday, May 21, at the age of 41 was a terrible shock to his loving family and countless loyal fans. Busch reportedly passed away from pneumonia that progressed to sepsis, per ESPN. Seemingly young and vigorous, his untimely death left a massive void in the sports space that will never be diminished. For Busch's family, the loss is devastatingly profound. His older brother, Kurt, 47, a retired NASCAR racer himself and a proud Hall of Famer, is now going public for the first time about his sibling's tragic passing. His anguish is overwhelming.

Busch shared his feelings with the public on Instagram. He clearly loved and admired his brother deeply. A carousel of photos with his post shows them at various stages in their lives. Kurt Busch wrote, "Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, everyone, for the well wishes, support, and love for my brother and our family. Finding a silver lining, I reflect back on the days Kyle and I raced anything we could get our hands on. From big wheels to competing on the biggest stages in motorsports, we were more than just fierce competitors. We pushed each other, challenged each other, and learned from each other."
