Panettiere died on Aug. 16 at the age of 36 in Greenville, South Carolina. The Nashville actress was found unresponsive in a rental property where she was staying. Narcan was then administered by her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zachary, in an attempt to revive her. Her death is under investigation.
The Pawn Shop Won't Release the Jewelry
PEOPLE reports that Wladimir Klitschko, the father of Panettiere's daughter Kaya, filed a new petition in his request for temporary guardianship of his ex-fiancé's estate.
The 50-year-old former professional boxer claims he was "informed and believes that a non-family member previously connected to Hayden sold certain items belonging to Hayden, believed to include jewelry, to a pawn shop."
It adds that the shop won't release the items it received "without being contacted by law enforcement." He requests "law enforcement assistance" in investigating and recovering Panettiere's belongings. He cites "the direct financial detriment of Kaya, Hayden's sole intestate heir."
Klitschko Wants Temporary Guardianship of the Estate of Hayden Panettiere
Last month, Klitschko filed to have temporary guardianship of Panettiere's estate on behalf of their 11-year-old daughter. Kaya is the sole beneficiary.
In that filing, he said that if the guardianship wasn't put in place immediately, "there is a high probability that property belonging to Hayden's Estate may be lost, damaged or dissipated before a duly appointed personal representative can be in place to protect it."
Klitschko believes that before the death of Panettiere, a security service was hired to protect her home. There was "a documented concern that an individual had gained unauthorized access to Hayden's property." Klitschko also claims that locks were changed and valuables were relocated.
He also "believes that non-family members previously connected to Hayden have accessed and destroyed Hayden's emails."
Klitschko posted a tribute to his ex-fiancé on social media shortly after her death, expressing his shock over what happened.
"The announcement of Hayden's tragic death saddens me deeply," he wrote. "She left this world far too soon. Hayden was, although no longer my partner, an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter, Kaya."
