Lainey Wilson's Movie Debut Has Ties To That Huge Blake Lively And Justin Baldoni Drama

Lainey Wilson is starring in her first role in a film, and it has connections to the film that spurred the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal trouble.

It seems as country music seeps into the mainstream more and more, country singers are stepping into the acting scene. This may not be Lainey Wilson's first time behind a camera, but it is the first film she's been a part of.

Many fans may know her work on Yellowstone. Taylor Sheridan created a character specifically for her in season 5, where she appeared every now and then. Sheridan used her music in season 2 of the show, so it felt right to give the singer a proper role.

Her acting skills has gained some attention, it seems, as she's to hit the big screen. When she spoke to Variety recently, Wilson spilled the news that she has a role in Reminders Of Him, a film adaptation of the 2022 Colleen Hoover book of the same name.

If reading 'film adaptation of a Colleen Hoover book' gave you shivers, then don't worry. It should. The last time this happened was with This Ends With Us, the film that led to the public and messy legal war between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Let's just hope production of this movie goes a little smoother than previous Colleen Hoover adaptations.

Lainey Wilson's Role Unclear In Upcoming Film

Unfortunately, we don't know a whole lot about Lainey Wilson's involvement in Reminders Of Him.

We know she doesn't have a lead role, however. Maika Monroe and Tyriq Withers will play the lead female and male.

The plot itself is about a mother who's come back after a 5 year sentence in the slammer after an accident. She tries to reconnect with her daughter, but others try to keep them apart. Only one person hasn't held her sentence against her, a local bar owner and male lead protagonist.

Considering Lainey Wilson isn't exactly a bad actor, I'd be surprised if she's only used for a small cameo to generate headlines. I'm sure they'll give her a persistent and minor role.
