Actually, even way back, the singer knew what she wanted for her wedding gown. In a People interview from August 2025, Wilson talked about the early planning stages of her and Hodges' nuptials. "I need to go dress shopping or I need to talk to somebody about making a dress. I need to go get fitted. How about that? That's the first step." Wilson added, "I'm excited to just step outside of the box and see what happens. So hopefully when [Hodges] sees me, he'll be boohooing."

"Duck" Hodges proposed to Lainey Wilson by putting her engagement ring inside a tiny box shaped like a cowboy hat. In fact, it sounds like she was tickled by the sweet gesture.
