Lainey Wilson is in the midst of planning for her wedding with longtime fiancé Delvin "Duck" Hodges. On the Grammys red carpet last night, Wilson got candid about the vibes that people can expect from the event.

When asked about how wedding planning is actually going, Wilson shared that, honestly, "We need to be doing more planning." The country star has been booked and busy for the past several years, and planning a wedding hasn't been her only priority.
In 2025, Lainey had the kind of year many country artists can only dream of. The "4X4XU" singer performed, hosted, and accepted awards at this year's CMAs, and also finished up her Whirlwind World Tour. She admitted at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival in July that "[She and Duck] really haven't even gotten started yet," with planning the event.
"But it's all good," she shared. "We're just taking our time."
Even though they might not have a venue picked out, Lainey assured People that she knows exactly what kind of energy she wants to bring to the day.
"Well, first of all, I just want it to be about what it's supposed to be about," she said. "I want my family to be there, like my closest family, like my mama and daddy, sister and her kids. I want good music, good food."
For food, her personal choice is a little bit of "Cajun flare", while her fiancé will likely want "a good steak." Wilson said that "a mix of both" might be in order.
Lainey Wilson Talks "Contemporary" and "Traditional" Categories
At this year's Grammys, Lainey was nominated for three awards. While she didn't take any home this year, she did win a Grammy in 2024 for Best Country Album for Bellbottom Country.
Now, the Best Country Album Award has two categories: Best Contemporary and Best Traditional. Last night, Jelly Roll took home the Best Contemporary Award, and Zach Top snagged the Best Traditional Country Album.
Wilson gave her thoughts on the change.
"Honestly, I feel like that's a good call just because I feel like there are so many different types of country happening right now," she shared. "Honestly, it feels like it's a little bit of everything for everybody, and um, I think it's great."
She touched on how the genre continues to evolve. "I'm excited to see what other categories it splits into because that's the way country is growing and going."
