"Never Say Never," her duet with Cole Swindell, reached the top spot on the Country Airplay chart in 2022. She also worked with Jelly Roll on a remix of his breakthrough hit "Save Me."

She's also worked with Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert. Most recently, she joined Queen Latifah, Reba McEntire, and Miley Cyrus on a new version of Parton's 1977 hit, "Light Of A Clear Blue Morning."

It's safe to say that Wilson works well with others. Given her love of collaboration, the star was recently asked which is her favorite country music duet. The answer is an all-time classic. We have the details below.

What Country Music Duet Does Lainey Wilson Love?

When on the podcast Taste of Country NightsWilson talked about her penchant for duets. She was then asked what her favorite country music team-up is.

She said, "Man, 'Islands in the Stream,' Dolly and Kenny."

We can't argue with this four-minute piece of pop perfection by Parton and Kenny Rogers. Written by Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, it was originally meant for Marvin Gaye. As we reported several years ago, Barry then offered it to Rogers.

However, after listening to the demo for several days, Rogers told Barry he no longer liked the song.

"'You know what we need? We need Dolly Parton,'" said Rogers. "Once she came in and started singing, the song was never the same. It took on a personality of its own."

The hit knocked Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" out of the No. 1 spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. It also topped the adult contemporary charts and country charts.

That's Not the Only Duet Wilson Loves

Wilson just couldn't stop at one song. She also mentioned 1997's "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. The couple were on tour and dating when the song was brought to McGraw.

"I instantly knew I was going to cut it," said McGraw. "I played it for Faith and told her I wanted her to sing on it. We both really felt like we had something."

The song was eventually nominated for a Grammy Award and held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for six weeks.
