Lainey Wilson Reflects on Her Movie Debut: “The Stars Had To Align”

Lainey Wilson has debuted on the silver screen. She can hardly believe her good fortune. Wilson brings storytelling flair to her role.

Lainey Wilson has opened a new chapter in her already-amazing career. Now not only is she a phenomenal singer, she is also a movie actress. Wilson's first film role in Reminders Of Him allows her to tap into the storytelling skill that she brings to country music. It seems like the "Heart Like A Truck" artist is destined for success as an actress in the same way she has hit the jackpot as a vocalist.

Wilson sounds as if she still has to pinch herself to believe the great opportunity she got to be in this film. The multi-talented woman from Baskin, Louisiana, is making it big time in Hollywood.

Lainey Wilson Is Thrilled To Be Part of This Film

The singer happily dished about this new phase of her professional life on the red carpet at the premiere of Reminders Of Him. Per Holler, she shared, "I looked at myself in the mirror, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, this is my first feature film.' Like that is something to call home about."

She added, "Honestly a lot of things that my parents taught me when it comes to forgiveness and just loving people, you know? It's about hardship and at the end of the day, like, we've all been through stuff. But I truly do believe it is about those things that you've been through, and the stories you get to tell on the other side of that. That's why I feel like I've wanted to be a storyteller."

Wilson looks upon the plum acting gig with humility and gratitude. "It's just cool to be able to like branch outside of what I normally do, my day job, and meet people who just are creative people who love what they do and take it very serious. I got to learn a lot."

Her Schedule Allowed Her To Make the Film

Lainey Wilson has an incredibly busy life. She is so in demand. Fortunately, however, she said that she found the time to work on this movie. It was absolutely worth the effort.

"Well, to tell you the truth, it was perfect timing. You know, last year we toured a lot, but we didn't tour as much as the year before. So I had like this window where it was just perfect. I was like okay, we can go out there for a couple of weeks and get this done. The stars have to align, you know what I'm saying? They have to. And they did."
