Lainey Wilson already has one Grammy to her credit, but she could have had another one. Wilson won the Grammy for Best Country Album last year, for Bell Bottom Country. She was nominated in the same category this year, for her Whirlwind album. That trophy went to Beyoncé instead, for her Cowboy Carter record.

Wilson's fans might be unhappy, but Wilson insists she is fine with Beyoncé winning the trophy. Really.
"Not for me at all," Wilson insists to a UK news station. "Just because at the end of the day, when I first started doing this and dreaming about doing this, I never in a million years was thinking, like, 'I'm doing this just for the awards. You know, just to have the shiny stuff up on the shelf.' I'm doing this to play shows, and put butts in seats. And, make people feel something."
In fact, Wilson is a big fan of Beyoncé. She made sure to meet her while they were both at the Grammy Awards.
"I got an opportunity to meet her at the Grammys," Wilson remembers. "I walked up to her like seven- foot-tall security guy and I'm like, 'Can I meet her?' We both share a deep appreciation for what each other does and I think that she's introduced a lot of people to the country genre that maybe ever even knew that they liked it, and country's on fire right now."

Wilson may not have taken home her second Grammy, but she still has plenty to celebrate. The newly-engaged singer just had her eighth No. 1 hit at country radio, with "4X4XU." The song, from Whirlwind, is about her fiancé, Devlin "Duck" Hodges.
"The truth is, I write what I know, and I finally found a man worth writing about," Wilson says (via Songfacts). "So you know it's a love song because y'all probably thought, 'Dang, she ain't got it in her, she ain't got it in her'... but I do. I got me a cheerleader."
Wilson is spending most of the year on her massive Whirlwind World Tour, which included her overseas leg earlier this year.
