Lainey Wilson Channels Johnny Cash on 2024 Grammys Red Carpet

See Lainey Wilson's latest twist on her wide-brimmed hat and flared plants staples.

There's two staples of Lainey Wilson's wardrobe: wide-brimmed western hats and, of course, bell bottoms. From there, she and her team build memorable and unpredictable red carpet looks. The latest twist came at Sunday's (Feb. 4) Grammy Awards.

The "Wildflowers and Wild Horses" singer-songwriter channeled the Man in Black, Johnny Cash, with a head-to-toe black look, from her hat to her pants suit with flared pants so long that they swallow her shoes. Gold breaks up the darkness, from Wilson's necklaces to the buttons on her vest and suit jacket.

In an interview with Grammy.com, Wilson joked about her role in reviving a fashion trend.

"Somebody told me the other day, 'You single-handedly brought back the ugliest pants in the world.' And I said, 'Hey, we're just over here solving a world problem,'" she shared.

Wilson's affinity for flared pants dates back to childhood.

"I remember getting my first pair of bell bottoms at 9 years old," she told Grammy.com. "That was the year that I wrote my first song, got my horse, went to Nashville for the first time, and I remember how those bell bottoms made me feel. They made me feel sassy, that I had a little extra pep in my step. So I can go from sweatpants to putting on my bell bottoms and then I'm ready! They're magic.

Before Sunday's broadcast, Wilson came up short in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category. She shared a nomination with Jelly Roll for their collaborative version of "Save Me." Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves earned top honors for "I Remember Everything."

In addition, Wilson's Bell Bottom Country is in the in the running for Best Country Album. She's up against Kelsea Ballerini (Rolling Up the Welcome Mat), Brothers Osborne (Brothers Osborne), Zach Bryan (Zach Bryan) and Tyler Childers (Rustin' in the Rain).
