It looks like 1/3 of Lady Antebellum is going solo...for the time being.
Just a few weeks after the group announced plans for a short hiatus, band member Charles Kelley revealed he's preparing to release music of his own.
Kelley debuted his solo material for a crowd of industry executives on Sept. 30 in Nashville, Tenn. He performed seven new songs, including "The Driver", a track featuring vocals from Dierks Bentley and Eric Paslay, which was released online earlier this week. The intensely reflective track speaks of the adventures and hardships that come with living life on the road.
Although the single marks a solid start for a solo career, Lady A fans will be happy to know Kelley has no plans to leave the group behind permanently.
"I wouldn't have done this without Hillary and Dave giving me their blessing," Kelley recently told Billboard. "Lady Antebellum will always be my focus."
