Lady A singer Charles Kelley has some bad news to share with fans. Doctors diagnosed him with a rare form of blood cancer. It's called multiple myeloma.

Taking to social media, the Lady A singer confirmed the diagnosis. Kelley went to the doctor after he suffered a "couple random rib fractures." After doing blood tests, doctors determined that the Lady A singer had blood cancer.
Despite the shock of his diagnosis, the singer is determined to remain positive. Kelley says that he still feels healthy.
"I'm young. I feel healthy and the treatments, I will say, have just come so far, even in the past five years, that even life expectancy is just far exceeds what it used to be. And I don't know, I feel really hopeful. I really do," he shared in the video message.
Lady A Singer Reveals Cancer Diagnosis
To make matters worse, Kelley revealed a fellow friend also developed multiple myeloma. She got her diagnosis weeks before him. So they're leaning on each other.
He said, "We have a friend going through this right now and she's been sharing some of her journey. She's about two months ahead of me on this. And it helped me so much watching that."
It's not the first time that the Lady A singer has opened up to fans about his health. In 2022, he got candid about his decision to get sober and the challenges with it.
"I think in sobriety, it's all about one day at a time and that we're not in control. And so that's the way we're looking at it. I mean, right now I feel great. We got a new record coming out soon with Lady A, and then we got Christmas shows. And this first six months of treatment I believe is not going to be too super invasive. I can still work. I think physically I will feel like myself. I'll have tough days, but I want to keep working.," he shared. "Even going out last weekend was like, after even knowing the news, it was like this is where I belong. I need to be happy and doing what I love to do and spending and sucking up as much time with my family as I can as well. But I'm hopeful. I really am. But we just want to let y'all know and I'll try to let you in when I feel like it's appropriate throughout the journey."
