If you look closely at your La Croix you'll be able to see that it says La Croix is sparkling water, but what's the difference between a club soda, tonic, sparkling water, and a seltzer? Well, that's an easy one- carbonation and minerals.
A club soda, sparkling water, and tonic water all have different minerals to get a nice flavorful taste. Club soda uses mineral salts, seltzer is made similarly to a club soda but with no added minerals, tonic water uses similar minerals to club soda but also has sweeteners added in, and finally, sparkling water does have added minerals, but it depends on the spring it came from.
Also, the FDA has stated that seltzer or club soda usually has artificial carbonation and sparkling water comes naturally.
Is La Croix Healthy?
La Croix is much healthier than other sugary drinks such as pop and juice. Sparkling water won't cause any wear or tear on your teeth like many other carbonated drinks. And some studies have also shown that sparkling water might help with weight loss (for those who go to the gym or dieting). This is because carbon dioxide can make you not have an appetite which in return also make you feel full. We're not saying to go on a La Croix diet, but you get the point! It's pretty healthy.
