Legendary singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson has officially joined the 2016 class of Austin City Limits Hall of Fame inductees.

The 79-year-old will be celebrated along with the late blues icon B.B. King and Bonnie Raitt during a ceremony and concert event at ACL Live on Oct. 12. The induction ceremony will “celebrate the legacy of legendary artists and key individuals who have been instrumental in the landmark series’ 40-plus years,” according to a press release from Austin City Limits.

Kristofferson appeared as early as 1982, and then again on the 2010 season of the long-running PBS program. He was also a part of the series’ 1997 songwriters special alongside Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kimmie Rhodes and Billy Joe Shaver.

Additional performers and ticketing information for the induction ceremony is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The announcement comes just days after plans were revealed for a massive tribute concert that will celebrate the life and music of Kristofferson.

The Life & Songs of Kris Kristofferson will be held March 16 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The event will feature performances from Willie NelsonDierks Bentley, Eric Church and more.
