Here's your proof that literally every man, woman and Muppet loves Kris Kristofferson. In his hilariously awkward duet on The Muppet Show, the acclaimed singer-songwriter serenades a swooning Miss Piggy.
Kristofferson sings his 1970 hit, "Help Me Make It Through The Night" right to Piggy, even taking the bow out of her hair on cue. A visibly giddy Kristofferson can't hold back his chuckles more than a few times. Especially when Piggy chimes in with lines like, "Oh, you silver-tongued devil."
And of course, don't forget the Muppet band Electric Mayhem in the background.
Of course, Piggy has famously fickle tastes in men. But with that chiseled face and boyish smile, who could turn away from Kris Kristofferson? He even rocked the 70s mop top haircut for good measure.
This episode of the show filmed in February 1978. The first of season three, Kristofferson also appeared in a few sketches. Guest songstress Rita Coolidge also appeared with Kristofferson.
Miss Piggy joins a long line of successful musicians to sing "Help Me Make It Through The Night." Those include, obviously, Elvis in 1971. And then there's Gladys Knight, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dottie West...you get the picture.
However, we can safely assume this is the first time the version involved a post-performance make out session on stage literally the moment it finished.
