KISS Icon Is Fed up With Celebrities Talking Politics: "Shut the F---k up"

If you are a celeb and you want to offer an opinion about President Trump, the war with Iran, or anything else inflammatory and political, don't do it in front of Gene Simmons. The KISS rocker is irked to no end about famous people sounding off about the political landscape - which these days is more like a landmine.

Simmons, 76, isn't into who likes which pol or doesn't. He just wants the cacophony of celebrity viewpoints to cease. The musician made that super clear in a video rant on TMZ.

Simmons Heatedly Let Fly on This Topic

The former KISS frontman is exasperated by A-listers who spout off about the events and people in the news. So he decided to do some colorful spouting off himself.

Giving a quick tirade-on-the-street interview, Simmons said about stars wading into politics, "Basically shut the f--k up. Do your art and shut up. Nobody is interested in your opinions. That includes me Who I vote for, who I like. Who the f--k do you think you are? People in America work hard for their living and they don't want to be lectured to by people who live in mansions and drive Rolls-Royces. It's time for everybody in the industry to shut their piehole."

He added, "Just do your art. Nobody cares what you think. I don't."

He Laced Into One Actor

Actor Mark Ruffalo's and comedian Ben Stiller's names came up in Gene Simmons' lively exchange with the interviewer. Both have criticized President Trump, especially due to America's role in the military conflict in the Middle East. Simmons particularly blasted Ruffalo. "What does Mark think about politics? I don't care."

Then he said flippantly, "Or go to Kylie Jenner and ask her what she thinks of the war so far." If anyone does that, it certainly won't be Gene Simmons!

Simmons Has at Times Talked About Politics Himself

Gene Simmons has indeed spoken about politics himself at times. For example, in a 2022 interview with Spin, he had pretty harsh words for Donald Trump. "I know the previous [U.S.] president [Trump]. I knew him before he entered politics. Look what that gentleman did to this country and the polarization - got all the cockroaches to rise to the top. Once upon a time, you were embarrassed to be publicly racist and out there with conspiracy theories. Now it's all out in the open because he allowed it."

Simmons added, "I don't think he's a Republican or a Democrat. He's out for himself, any way you can get there. And in the last election, over 70 million people bought it hook, line and sinker."
