Kid Rock to Serve as Grand Marshal of Tennessee Christmas Parade

Despite stirring up holiday season controversy for the second year in a row, Kid Rock will serve as the grand marshal for the Leiper's Fork Christmas Parade.

Last year, Kid Rock, real name Robert James Ritchie, made headlines after a profanity-laced rant against The View co-host Joy Behar, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, on Fox News' morning show, Fox & Friends.

"God forbid you say something a little bit wrong, you're racist, homophobic, Islamophobic, this that and another. People need to calm down get a little less politically correct," Rock said following live TV interview, as reported by the Tennessean.

Before the incident, Rock was scheduled as the grand marshal of the Nashville Christmas Parade. Rock's comments led parade organizers to replace him with James Shaw Jr., a community hero from the local Waffle House shooting on April 22, 2018. Per a statement released at the time, Shaw better represented "the spirit of the Nashville community."

After being ousted by Nashville's Christmas parade, Rock joined the small Tennessee town of Leiper's Fork's parade alongside a fellow outspoken Republican, former Dukes of Hazzard star and country singer John Schneider.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, viral footage shot at Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock n' Roll Steakhouse on Lower Broadway in Nashville showed him sharing choice words about not just Behar but her fellow talk show veteran and democrat Oprah Winfrey.

"My people tried to get me to do The Oprah Winfrey show years ago and her people wanted me to write down 5 reasons why I loved her and her show," Rock wrote in a Nov. 29 tweet regarding the incident. "I said f**k that and her. End of story."

The Leiper's Fork Christmas Parade will be held Sat., Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. in an unincorporated area of Williamson County.
