In case you didn't know, the drummer in the video for Rock's new song is battling brain cancer. Kalvin Lynch performs the drums for the song as part of his Make-A-Wish. Rock took time on

"This is not a video to promote my album,' he said. "This is a special video for my friend, Kalvin Lynch, who as you know ... played drums in my most recent video, 'James 1:17.' You may have heard that Kalvin is battling a horrible brain tumor. And I just found out that he has entered some special care. I know this must be a very difficult time for him and his family. And I thought that we could come together in the comments below with our words of encouragement, prayers for Kalvin and his family in hopes that it may bring them a little comfort."

Kid Rock Speaks Out

Rock shared his own experiences with the young drummer.

"Kalvin, I know it was your Make-A-Wish to play drums with me, and how great it worked out for you to be able to be in the video, and it really was an honor for me to be able to perform with you," the singer said.

He also added, "And to have you be a part of a song that is very special to me. And, I just wanted to say, when we were talking and you told me you were only 17 years old, that at first melted my heart, and it brought me back because I explained to you this whole journey I've been on. I've been seeing 1s and 7s and I know it's God's been speaking to me, and I've been listening. I was able to share that with you and we had some laughs. I just wanted to say that I will see you again my friend. Hang in there, keep fighting. I love you. God loves you. God bless you and all your family."

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
