Texas country star Kevin Fowler took to Facebook last fall to warn fans about the dangers of rattlesnake bites.
The singer shared a picture of the third rattlesnake he's seen around his home this month, along with some gruesome photos of his friend's hand that was bitten by a rattlesnake last year.
"All of you people who cry about folks killing rattlesnakes have probably never seen what it looks like when you get bit by one," wrote Fowler. "All of you rattlesnake sympathizers will change your tune when your kid gets bit playing in your backyard."
Be warned: the images Fowler shared are pretty nasty. Fowler added that his friend is "still going through surgeries and rehab." You can see the photos in the gallery below.
Rattlesnakes account for the majority of snakebites and snakebite-related deaths in the U.S. They tend to be elusive creatures. If you live in a rural area, be careful when you check your wood pile, trash dumps or livestock pens, as rattlesnakes tend to hide in dark and cluttered areas. Fowler found his most recent rattlesnake hiding in his shed.
