Kelsea Ballerini Ponders What NYC Move Will Do to Her Music

Country singer Kelsea Ballerini is prolific, successful, and talented. The "Cowboys Cry Too" singer settled in New York City recently, and she is wondering whether the move will affect her music. When Ballerini spoke to People, she seemed optimistic that the change to a brand-new, bustling urban environment would benefit her from a creative standpoint.

The change of scenery came after the breakup of Ballerini's relationship with Chase Stokes. The two had some well-documented ups and downs before they finally called it quits. Perhaps being in a dramatically different location was a balm for any painful feelings in the wake of that chapter of her life concluding. Kelsea Ballerini seems to be doing just fine.

The Singer Is Flourishing So Far in New York City

She candidly shared with the outlet, "I've made five records and two EPs in Nashville and I think I am in this place in my life where I just wanted to see creatively where changing my landscape and my backdrop, what that would bring out. It's really proving to feel really inspired and different in a good way, but it's, to me, what my kind of country sounds like in a city."

Kelsea Ballerini is thriving in her new home. She told the outlet two months ago that she is making friends and connections quickly. The fast-paced, exciting vibe in New York evidently agrees with her. Maybe it will stimulate her music as well.

She Previously Hinted That She Might Not Be a Permanent Resident

Ballerini is keeping her options wide open, at least for now. She commented to E!News in early April that her new place of residence is "just for now." She went on to say, "I'm not permanently moving. I'm just there for the summer, and I'm loving it so much."

"I'm just discovering. It's so fun, " Ballerini added. "I feel this resurgence of energy. It's been really nice, and I'm really excited."

The 32-year-old Kelsea Ballerini is a native of Mascot, Tennessee. She was married to Morgan Evans for five years, ending in 2022. It will be fascinating to see what this gifted country artist's next career move might be - and if the hubbub of the big city eased her in a new creative direction.
