Kelsea Ballerini Invited to Join Grand Ole Opry

Kelsea Ballerini is the newest artist to be invited into the Grand Ole Opry family. The singer was invited to join the Opry on Tuesday, Feb. 5 by Little Big Town.

The group surprised Ballerini with the invitation, initially asking her to join them for a performance of their hit "Girl Crush." But Little Big Town band member Karen Fairchild revealed the real reason for her appearance on the Opry stage when she sang "Kelsea Ballerini, will you join the Opry?"

Ballerini was clearly stunned and emotional over the invitation. Watch the video of her invitation below.

The singer will officially be inducted into the Opry on April 16. Ballerini's invitation follows recent Opry inductees Chris Janson, Dustin Lynch and Mark Wills.

Ballerini is currently on the road with Kelly Clarkson for the Meaning of Life Tour. In April, she'll kick off her own Miss Me More Tour, featuring Brett Young.

The Tennessee native released her debut album The First Time in 2015. In 2017, she released her sophomore album Unapologetically, which spawned the singles "I Hate Love Songs" and "Miss Me More."
