Kelsea Ballerini Surprises 12-Year-Old Songwriter at Bluebird Cafe

A young songwriter got a big surprise from country star Kelsea Ballerini during his performance at the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.

Landon Wall, a 12-year-old singer-songwriter from Trinity, NC, was at the famed venue to perform "Lost Boy," a song he penned as a response to Ballerini's "Peter Pan." Wall's song gives the perspective of the indelicate lover in Ballerini's hit.

As Wall thanked the crowd, he spotted Ballerini coming towards the stage. It took a second to register with him, but when it did, his eyes blew up to the size of golf balls.

Ballerini then stepped onstage to thank Wall and give a performance of "Peter Pan."

"If you're gonna sing the response, I get to sing mine too," said Ballerini, all smiles.

The Bluebird Cafe is one of the most esteemed songwriter venues in the country. The 90-seat cafe has hosted performances by countless music legends, like Townes Van Zandt, Billy Joe Shaver, Guy Clark, to name a few. It's rumored that Taylor Swift was first discovered at the Bluebird Cafe. You've also probably seen the venue featured on the show Nashville, which was recently picked up for a fifth season by CMT
