Earlier this month the singer released her music video for "Heartfirst" which starts off with Ballerini having a "meet-cute" with a stranger while carrying grocery bags. The two love birds lock eyes, and boom, the song quickly starts! It's a really cute video that pairs perfectly with the pop-country song.

"Heartfirst" is the first single of the country star's forthcoming new album, which has yet to officially be announced, but Ballerini is giving us behind the scene content to keep us on our toes. The singer posted several videos on TikTok answering questions from fans, posting a video saying, "I've been super hesitant to share anything before it's super ready because things have just been so subject to change the last few years, but it's ready. So, more soon!"
As far as the sound of the album in itself, one fan asked "Vibe of the album?? Country or Country pop?! I hear you say 90s so what artists are inspo?!" Ballerini posted a response, saying, "I will say that the sound of this "hypothetical record" is definitely— it's different than anything I have ever done, and it is heavily influenced by I would say 90's music in general, but definitely 90s female country." Could it be that we are getting another Shania Twain anthem?

She continued, "You know it's interesting. I've always really enjoyed walking that line and balance of pop and country, and I will certainly never apologize for that because I feel like that's just what's true to me. It's what I listen to and what I'm inspired by, and I know some people really get their panties in a wad about it, and that's okay. But I feel like you just have to be true to your heart and your art, and that's always what I've done."
As far as when it will be released, the singer posted another TikTok video, zooming on her necklace which shows a Virgo logo, hinting it might come in August or September! Whenever it is, I am definitely so ready to hear some more of her music! Team Ballerini, over here.
