Kelly Clarkson Could be Headed to Daytime TV With Her Own Talk Show

Rumor has it that Kelly Clarkson might be gearing up to start a gig as a daytime talk show host. Though details about the deal are scarce, the Hollywood Reporter says that the powerful vocalist is filming a talk show pilot.

The idea of Clarkson as a talk show host seems to make perfect sense. We already know that her vibrant personality and talent lends itself well to TV, from her rise as the first American Idol winner to becoming a coach on another hit singing competition, The Voice. And even on her first season of The Voice, Clarkson came out victorious over the previous season's winner Blake Shelton. Clarkson also showed off her hosting abilities on this year's Billboard Music Awards, and the bubbly star made an appearance on NBC's Red Nose Day Special thanks to her talent deal with NBC Entertainment.

Though it isn't guaranteed that Clarkson's talk show would be on NBC as it could be shopped around to other TV stations, NBC recently canceled Harry Connick Jr.'s talk show, so there seems to be a gap in the schedule that Clarkson could perfectly fit into. Due to her current presence on TV and her friendly personality, one could assume that she would get plenty of viewers.

The news of filming a talk show pilot comes only a month after Variety wrote that Clarkson is joining STXfilms's UglyDolls movie as a character named Moxy. Clarkson will sing an orignal song for the soundtrack and lend her voice to the animated character based on the well-known line of toys that purposefully toe the line of cute and ugly. The film doesn't have an exact release date, but it should emerge in 2019, making for a wonderfully busy year for Clarkson.
