A severe intestinal illness caused by a microscopic parasite is tearing across multiple states. Thousands have been sickened by cyclosporiasis. It typically comes from ingesting food tainted by human feces, such as fresh produce. It even gave Kelly Clarkson, 44, quite a scare recently.

Per Entertainment Weekly, the beloved singer and American Idol winner seemed shaken by the mere thought of having such a horrid bug. Clarkson talked frankly to the audience about the sickness at her July 18 Las Vegas residency show at Caesars Palace in the Colosseum. When her stomach acted up, she momentarily feared she had the dreaded illness. Mercifully, it was a false alarm and she is okay.
However, in true Kelly style, she made her "TMI" confession crazily witty. Watch the Instagram video of her monologue and try not to at least chuckle! The crowd was absolutely howling with sympathetic laughter. She had them in the palm of her hand throughout. Clarkson's "good sport" attitude is just one of the traits that has made her so popular.
Clarkson Flexed Her Funny Bone
The singer told all to the crowd, who ate it up. "I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't know if I got that thing that people, like, eat lettuce s---. I don't know, okay? I don't know what the f---." Clarkson went on hilariously, "But last night during the show, I was like, 'oh my god, Jesus.'"
To be clear, cyclosporiasis is no laughing matter. It causes wretched symptoms like explosive diarrhea, among others.
When she headed to her room post-concert, Clarkson confided she "had never been so happy that there was not a man in the room, because he would never make sweet love to this again."
She Injected a Famous Scene From a Film Into Her Monologue
Kelly Clarkson kept the madcap comedy coming. She mentioned the scene in Bridesmaids when "the main characters suffered from brutal food poisoning while shopping for dresses," per the outlet. "And you know the part where you think it's over, where you're like, it has to be over? No, girl!"
She zanily added, "But you know what's awesome? They have, like, warm toilets for you here. Oh, I'll be single 'til I'm dead. It's fine."
