Obviously not. Back in February, the "Stronger" singer announced that she was stepping back from The Kelly Clarkson Show after seven seasons.
But that didn't stop Clarkson from making light of the situation at one of her recent shows at The Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas over the weekend. We have the details below.
Kelly Clarkson Started a Joke
As reported by Page Six, the moment happened when Clarkson was talking with a member of the audience during the July 17 show. The moment was part of her Studio Sessions residency, which continues until August.
As she was stroking the sequins on the sleeve of the fan's jacket, Clarkson made light of the unusual moment by saying, "I would get fired by NBC, but I don't work there anymore."
The singer then added how "sad" she is that the program ended because "it was a fun show."
Why Did Clarkson's Show End?
Clarkson wrote in a statement on Instagram back in February that it "was not an easy decision" to leave The Kelly Clarkson Show.
"Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives," she wrote.
The announcement came after the death of Clarkson's ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, last year, following a long battle with melanoma.
The show not only enjoyed high ratings, but also won 22 Daytime Emmy Awards. Even so, Clarkson isn't stepping away from the camera anytime soon.
"This isn't goodbye", she wrote. "I'll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time...you never know where I might show up next."
In fact, Clarkson will be sitting in the reality singing competition show's rotating red chairs this fall with Adam Levine, country star Riley Green, and Queen Latifah.
