Keith Urban's Ripcord Tour made its way south to Florida over the weekend, stopping in Tampa - Orlando's neighbor to the west. Last weekend, Orlando (and the entire United States) experienced the greatest mass shooting in our country's history when 49 innocent lives were taken at a nightclub.
While in Florida, Urban recognized that many Orlando residents likely traveled along the state's Interstate 4 to see his show, and he took the opportunity to pay homage to the senselessly fallen.
Introducing his cover performance of U2's "One," Urban told the audience, "Although I didn't know anybody in that horrific incident, I did, because they're just guys and girls, brothers and sisters. They had dreams and hopes, plans, just like every one of us. So I know 'em like I know you guys."
Urban then began to sing the song about coming together as a united front, just him and his guitar, before a crowd with lit up phones waving in the air. Before exiting the stage for the night, Urban yelled "God bless Orlando. Orlando strong!" as he pumped his fist in the air.
